Illutrator Summer Workshop
This idea has been in my mind for quite some time now.I have seen a general ignorance about Vector drawing applications like Illustrator among the members of our clan.So I'd like to conduct a workshop on Illustrator, preferably in may. There will be no fixed curriculum. To what depth I delve into the topic would depend on the response I get from the participants.Participation is the only problem I see right now.Pankaj sir felt that it should be made compulsory for
the dynamites and students from the Graphics and Animation club should be invited . But with the school closing in another day or two, it's to late to contact the Graphics Club and with the entrence exams going on I do not see a point in forcing anybody to come.I want genuinely intrested people to attend this workshop.
I request Siddarth and Tarun to contact any of their classmates/fellow dynamites who are intrested in graphics.I also ask the ex-core group and other dynamites to participate if they can . I will keep in mind the schedule of the entrence exams before I finalise a date.
I'd welcome any suggestions regarding this topic.

Its an good idea, Uma. But I'd like to tell you it would be better if you shift this workshop in any other month rather than burning May. Already we are busy in completing our respective assignments & holiday HW. And about pursuing my fellow classmates (dynamites not included) to attend the workshop, forget about them. Only me 'n Prashanth are Dynamites from 10th standard( Stefan might join us later). So please temme what are schedules for workshop?
Come on, it's just a matter of 2 or 3 hours.I'd probably be busy with selecting subjects,re-admission and all in June after my board results at the end of may.
Prashanth, you and Stefan....hmmmm......I have a few of my classmates in mind.If they and the ex-12thies agree to come
I daresay we will have enough participants.I don't want a large unmanagable crowd in there anyway.
I'd notify everybody of the dates as soon as I finalise them.
Graphics and Animation club, hmm, What is that? I never heard of it. Is it supposed to be an alias of the "Digital Graphics" Department of DynamiX? Also, if you are interested in pulling in non-Dynamites too in this workshop, I feel that it will be un-wise to conduct it in the vacation. I highly doubt that the ex-12thies will turn up at all. Anyhow, if you can garauntee the participation of more than 10 students, then only you should go ahead and contact Pandey Sir and Principal Ma'am to make the necessary arrangements.
Yeah.. contact the school as it will provide the refreshments. Put that as a carrot-sort of thing.. a sort of reward for coming over in summer. One of you should go to the school and look up the class registers (they are in the database room.. the one opposite the photocopier room) and get the phone numbers of those students who you think should attend.
Do you know Uma according to me what was the biggest mistake that we committed during the Dynamix Respawned?
It was our decision to co-incide the first day of our event on a holiday. Only those, understanding the spirit of these symposia's turned up and rest were there enjoying in their houses.
Similarly, if you are planning to tutor in scorching heat of May/June, don't expect a high attendance.
Brickbats please...
Ayush:I am no expert at conducting workshops nor do I pretend to be one.I have no practical knowledge about what problems may arise, where things can go wrong et al.I'd certainley feel comfortable if atleast 1 or 2 experianced, knowledgable people are around, which have to be some of the ex-twelthies.You guys certainly won't have to install stuff or anything.I'll be doing the running around, organising, teaching and everything. You guys just have to be there for an hour or two. That's all I am asking for.
Shashank:I don't want students to come for the workshop just because they'll be getting Cokes or something. We did not
have any refreshments last time we conducted a workshop. So no refreshment plans as of now.
Siddharth:Scorching summers? I am not going to make them rounds in the background :-D. We have an AC Intel lab and I am going conduct the workshop prefferably between 9 am and 12 noon.
There is no way I can effectively organise and conduct a workshop during school.Classes,teachers,exams,houses,competitons,practices....it's too difficult to fit anything in there. So holidays
it'll have to be
I have just decided on a date...16th of May. If there are no problems with this date then I can go ahead and talk to Pandey Sir.
No, it can't be 16th of May as 12these are having their last extra class that day.
Are there classes on 15th as well?
Yeah. And even there wasn't one, you couldn't have worked out your workshop as the schedules are different for different classes. But there's one thing for sure. 16th is the last day of the extra classes of all the classes. Try 18th or a date after that(give one day for rest).

Maybe I'll just hold the workshop in early June then.
June's not good. We'll be off for counselling and admissions to whichever part of the country we get admission in. I can't predict where I'll be 2 months from now. :-)
Hold it on.. say 20th May. How about that?
Does anybody have any problem with 20th?
Tarun have you been in touch with Stefan
and Prashanth?
20th seems Ok. And I don't think anyone else has problem(s) too.
So, shall I talk to Pankaj/Pandey Sir to get the necessary arrangements done?
Regards
(Siddharth Razdan)
I'll take care of all that. Thanks for offering to help.
All those who are going to come raise your hands ;-) I need to have an approximate idea of who all are coming.
No problems with me.
