Firefox keyboard Shortcuts for entering URL Address

Instead of typing the whole http://www.blah.com/.net/.org, try this.

Type blah in the text toolbar and

* Ctrl + Enter will add http://www. before and .com and load the resulting url.
* Shift + Enter will add http://www. and .net,
* Ctrl + Shift + Enter will add http://www. and .org

These commands are very well there in the help menu of FireFox. I do not need them mail it to you. You can check 'em out yourself.

Hey Siddharth,
With people like us, that post wouldn't be required. You know why? Coz we would certainly find it easier to type the whole URL ourselves, rather than remembering a shortcut to prefix and suffix the "www." and ".com"..

@mr.anderson:enjoy using IE while it's there. Microsoft will eventually use FF code in it's browser as NCSA code is crap..

I prefer the keyboard shortcuts. I have been using them for many years now. And certainly, Firefox is much better than IE.

if i feel lazy to type the whole URL, i usually type: name from www.name.com, and hit [Enter]. At most times I get to the right places..courtesy Google's I'm Feeling Lucky..

Isn't that a lot better than shortcuts.

As for firefox being good, you should visit Kill Bill's Browser if you're not convinced yet..

@Abhishek - I prefer these shortcuts. At first, it is difficult to repeatedly pressing Ctrl+Enter and stuff, but when you are used to it, you just can't live without it.
@Anderson - Firefox is much much much better than IE.

@frankzz_sword - As exams as approaching, I am unable to work out drupal. But don't worry, I will look at Drupal as soon as I am over with my exams i.e. in later march or so.

umm..it's not as tuff, if you have a readymade php compatible server..or if you have IIS6 on your http://localhost/

Just paste the drupal folder into your inetpub folder, and it starts working..
