Events:

Quiz
Eligibility: Open No. of participants: 2 per team X 2 Teams
2 Participants per team with maximum two teams per school. Open for all classes. Written prelims of 30 minutes. Top 6 teams shall participate in the final round. Topics shall range from General Knowledge (obviously computer-related), to acronyms and visual rounds (only in finals). Be ready for some fun. :-)

Gaming
Eligibility: Open No. of participants: 1 per team X 1 Team
Stand up to the challenge. Each school sends one brave warrior to contest in the arena. The games shall be announced on the spot. The first round is where a handful of the best shall be picked for the finals, while the rest get eliminated. The games shall test the skill, bravery and reflexes of the gamers, the three virtues that every warrior must consider sacred. (And cheat codes are NOT allowed!)

Senior Programming

Eligibility: Class IX-XII No. of participants: 2 per team X 1 Team
Time: 2 hours. Match your programming prowess against others. The no. of questions and other details shall be included in the question paper. Your logical and analytical abilities shall be tested. The participants are free to choose their programming language from amongst C++, VB and Logo (;-P)

Junior Programming

Eligibility: up to Class VIII No. of participants: 2 per team X 1 Team
You'll have to choose your programming language just before the event begins (from amongst VB/C++/Logo/Q-Basic) because there will be two sets of papers. One set for C++ and VB, and the other set for Logo and Q-Basic. The questions shall be different but the overall skill level and marking scheme shall be equal and balanced. No set has any advantage (except that the clue for the Special event shall be in a different form)

Junior Presentation

Eligibility: up to Class IX No. of participants: 2 per team X 2 Teams
Yeah. Its just Junior Presentation. No limitation on the format of the presentation i.e you can get it even as a Flash presentation, a Movie clip etc etc. But you'll have to make sure that you bring the required plug-ins or software or codecs that shall be needed to run it. The students shall present their presentations to the entire audience and 5 minutes shall be given to each team to display their masterpiece. Judgment criteria: 30% marks on Originality & Concept; 20% marks on Communication skills; 30% marks on Content; and 20% marks on Structure and Flow. Teams must bring their projects on CDs, Floppies (though avoid using floppies as far as possible) or any other portable storage medium. Teams are requested to bring along the necessary drivers and additional software (if any) to run their storage devices. Go present! PS: There seems to be a confusion about the topic. There is no topic. 30% marks on Originality and Concept. If you are unable to think of any good topic and want some suggestion, sure! Make it on: The Dark Side of Internet. Understood?

Web Designing
Eligibility: Open No. of participants: 1 or 2 per team X 1 Team
Teams get 2 hours to design their masterpiece and get the topic on-the-spot. All the necessary graphics and text information shall be provided. No internet access shall be allowed. The sites shall be judged on their design style, presentation, loading time, creativity and imagination.
The list of available software is now out!

* Microsoft Frontpage 2000 or XP
* Macromedia Dreamweaver
* Macromedia Flash
* Swishmax
* Adobe Photoshop

Obviously no external data or software shall be allowed.

Group discussion
Eligibility: Classes X-XII No. of participants: 1 per team X 1 Team
Speak out! The controversial topic shall be announced on-the-spot. The participants shall be judged on the basis of their confidence, relevance, quality of content and presentation skills. There will be two rounds: Prelims and Finals.

Crossword
Eligibility: Open No. of participants: 2 per team X 2 Teams
Get ready to exercise your grey cells! There will be two rounds: a preliminary written round of 30 minutes followed by a final on-stage round where the top 6 teams from the prelims compete before the audience. Anything in the computing world may be asked (obviously in a cryptic form), right from General knowledge to specific famous code samples.

Ringtone composition

Eligibility: Open No. of participants: 2 per team X 1 Team
Schools get ONE HOUR, not 2 hours as mentioned in the invitations. Sorry for the blunder. Teams need to compose a nice little 10 seconds ringtone on the theme provided on-the-spot. (wink!) The software provided shall be Fruity Loops (double wink!).

And now, the Special Event
Eligibility: Open No. of participants: The entire team
You're not going to get any info on this! Its a special event. Just look out for hints here and there in the site, as well as during the event. Of course, you'll be told what the special event is during the inauguration on the first day, so make sure you're there on time. And keep checking this page for some new hints and clues. One very important clue shall be put up on this page 2 days before the event and the schools need to solve it and come prepared to give the answer right after the inauguration. This shall be very useful, as you'll be able to get a better understanding of the event if you have solved the clue. ;-)
